Christmas 09

I don't know why but Christmas 2009 was a memorable one for me. I don't know if it was just being around people i love or just the fact that i was able to give gifts. Anyways i wanted to enjoy it and not have to be the photographer and take pictures of every moment (that just how i am). But i did grab my camera when i saw a card with Cartier printed across it. My girlfriend's cousin was proposed to on Christmas night and she said Yes. So these are photos from the proposal.

People bake desserts and people donate and are informed about the work that is being done to help the women and children that are in this life. One Saturday my friend Andrew ask me to come out to his brother's for a little creative session of the arts (videography and photography). He started the day film random stuff in Santa Monica and by the time i got there, it was 4 (watched Avatar that morning) we went to theGriffith Observatory. It has been a long time since i've been there and it was nice to go and i didn't have to do what a teacher told me. Anyways that day was fun and i did see the Hollywood sign but thought its a little over rated when you're right next to the observatory. Enjoy the pictures

Marry ME!

So a lot of my friends are getting married and its pretty awesome to see two people lives come together to live with other forever. So to mark the occasion i take picture. Not just of the Bride and Groom but of everyone around (usually my friends). It was a nice wedding over at the Trump Golf Course. Hope the picture turn out good on the site.

Nieces

My Nieces! What can I say? They are some the cutest girls around. Don't let that fool you though. They are some the craziest, wildest, hand full kids you'll ever meet. Either way I love them and they can be good models...sometimes.

A War Becomes a Franco

So my friend's sister got married in May and my friend asked if i could shoot in the background. i wasn't the official photographer, but some photos of mine were in their album or at least used for something. It was a good day in San Juan Capistrano not super sunny but sunny enough for good lighting. It was a fun wedding and since i wasn't the official photographer i could photograph everyone else other than the Bride and Groom.

Hunt In Ton

So a while back I took my girlfriend over to the Huntington Library out in Pasadena. One of my favorite places. It brought back so much memories of going on field trips to this place. There are tons of beautiful things to see there. To bad I shot with a 35mm film camera and installed the film improperly. I know I went backward, shot digital first and then go film. Anyways there are some photos that made it to the digital camera, you really can't beat the convenience of it. So enjoy the photos.

Winter Wonderland in the Great White North

So I know Christmas was like 9 months ago and it seems like pictures from then not neccesary now. But to fall into commerical consumerism, i'm gonna show you Christmas picture not to sell something but because I enjoy these photos. As you look at the photos you could probably tell some are HDR photos. It was my first atempt so give me a break. For Christmas I went up to Toronto, Canada. I spent a whole week with my girlfriend's family at a campground that the rest of the family helps out at. Christmas was pretty much "Rutledge Winter Camp". It was good times and it was my first White Christmas. Enjoy.

What Happens in Vegas...Gets Posted

So we went to Vegas for my friend's Birthday. It was so hot! Most of the time was spend indoors or at the pool. I had a blast and I'm glad my tired took us there safely. It was good times and nice just to get out of Orange County.

So i was invited to go to an Art walk in the city of Santa Ana. It was really the first time I did something like this. It was nice to see local art and artist. Maybe one day my stuff will be display, but i don't think I'm good enough. Anyways the first photo is from Big Bear and isn't part of the Art Walk. I just wanted to display the photo.

So a while back i went to a couple of friends track meet, back in my hometown of Norwalk. It was a hot day and my girlfriend got burnt from just sitting in the sun for like an hour or so. Either way it wasn't going to stop me from trying to take some track photos. I like taking some action shots, since it make me feel like i'm able to stop time. Hope these photo do my boys some justice.

Getty On Up

So a couple of months ago I went to the Getty museum and it was the first time I've been there. I enjoyed it but was a little disappointed that the photography exhibit was closed and going under construction. Well given it was a great day and that everything seem to be just a prefect picture I stayed for only like 6 hours there and that was with the photography exhibit closed. Who knows how long I would have stayed if it had been open. Well, with that said enjoy the photos.

Waiting for the Homecoming King

So for those who don't know my brother is in the Marine Corp. Due to that I have become a believer that they are the best branch of military we have. But that is a whole other story. This was the day my brother came back from his second tour in Iraq. ETA for him was to be 6 P.M. So coming from L.A. County I figure it will take like 2 and a half to 3 hours to get there so I leave at like 3.

We ended up get there and waiting till 11 for my brother to arrive. It was a long day but well worth the wait. I'm just glad my brother is back. Also there were some good photo opportunity also, so the wait wasn't all to bad.

Antigue

So while I was down in El Salvador for two weeks my Girlfriend was like we should go to Antigue and spend like a day there. I thought to myself, well I don't know the place and this is my first time in El Sal why not. So we purchased our bus tickets and were on a bus for 4 hours or so (I don't remember) on our way.

I do have to say I really did enjoy the time there. Not to mention it was nice to see another race other than Hispanics. Growing up in Southern California I've gotten use to seeing different races and so when I in central america it was a little of a culture shock. None the less, I enjoyed the site-seeing and souvenir shopping. Not to mention the great food there. I just hope that the photos I've posted are ones that show that and are quality photos.

I for some reason have a fascinations with doors. Still trying to get a good shot of one those.

There were tons of ruin churches that just looked beautiful. I guess if you wanted you could have a wedding inside one of those. Unluckily to me, no weddings that day.

And all this was made possible by this young women of mine. I'm so lucky to have her.

El Sal, El Wow

I went to El Salvador for two reasons: 1. To see my girlfriend who was living there for 3months. and 2. to help out and dig latrines for a rural community. My time there was excellent. The people were great and I love the new friendships that I have made. Here are some photos that I had taken when I was down in El Salvador, which by the way is a really cool, beautiful place.

I'm just glad gas prices are going down now.

Shane here was pretty much the savior of the trip, in the sense that he was our driver and didn't drive us off the cliff when the roads were muddy and slippery. Thank You Shane.

Oregon Trail...Well from Cali anyways

So for Memorial Day week, I thought it be really cool to go visit my friend Stephen in Arlington Oregon. So after thinking about it my roommate Andrew and I did go visit and so here are some pictures of our adventure to Stephen's place and the 17 hour drive that we endured. Enjoy them because it was a rough ride all the way there and back.

Arlington is pretty much a small little town on the border of Oregon and Washington. Its really really small and pretty much everyone knows everyone type of town.

Stephen's cousin lived just outside of town on their farm. Which let me tell you is pretty sweet. So I hope you know that its a town that there isn't much to do, but a place where you have fun with what you have. So since I was there we did things like read, ride quads, kinda help with irrigations, play boccie

And of course shooting some guns. Which is pretty fun to do.

So a couple of days later we decided we wanted to go to Portland and check it out. Turns out we went there and got a tour of Lewis and Clark College, which is one of the prettiest campus in the west coast. Here is some photos of the school.

After seeing the school we then went to a school where one of Stephen's friend worked at and we thought it be fun to just mess around and play.

All in all it was a fun trip and i would love to do it again. Oregon is such a beautiful state, full of green trees and beautiful sunsets. But like all things, it had to end and so we embark back to So Cal our Home!!!!

Time to Enter the Real World

These photos I took was when I went to a Graduation for a couple of my friends at the Pacific Amphitheater in Costa Mesa, CA. I really enjoyed taking these candid shots of my friends and i hope you enjoy looking at them. Aside note, one of the friends ended up being my girlfriend (its not the male friend).
